You can’t go wrong with nylon

I'm often asked what's the best fiber to choose for new carpet.  I'm not associated with any retailer so can offer an unbiased opinion.  In a nutshell, the best overall choice for most applications is nylon.  It's the best wearing for a cut-pile among the synthetics, and gives a better color selection in a berber or commercial loop. It cleans very well.

Polypropelyne, also called olefin, is great in a loop for wear and stain resistance.  It is widely available in commercial carpets, berbers, and outdoor carpet. Colors aren't quite as vibrant, and it doesn't do well with oil-based stains. But overall it cleans very well.

Cut Rate Carpet Cleaning

Unfortunately, it’s true. Many carpet cleaners in the Charlotte area (and elsewhere, for that matter!) follow the Cut Rate Advertised Price business model. Look carefully at that title and see what it stands for! Essentially, due to a faltering economy, fierce competition, bad business sense—pick your excuse—too many carpet cleaning companies cut their rates so low to get your business that they actually cut their profit margin and often even lose money. “So what?” you may ask yourself. “Sounds like a deal for me!” Before you get too excited about getting your carpets cleaned at a bargain basement price, ask yourself this. How apt are businesses to do a good job if they know they are losing their shirt on the deal?

Don’t Let Dirty Carpet Lose Your Sale or Rental

A potential buyer or renter, upon walking into a unit with dirty carpet, will often asked themselves, “If the carpet is filthy, what else have they let go?” Having carpet cleaned in a unit you’re trying to move is relatively inexpensive and can certainly go a long way to making a good first impression.
